An Audio-Only Netflix: Movies to Podcasts

Interesting, isn't it? Netflix is bringing an audio only test for its Android users. It's still pretty new but the idea that someone would rather listen to a movie than watch it? Changes the ball game. This is probably most suitable for things like documentaries and stand up shows but yeah, who knows if this opens up doors for anyone who is up to watching a full length movie audio style!

Time To Get Physical with Voice Overs!

Have you ever had that moment when you’re recording for Voice Over (VO) where you just can’t get the voice right? You read the line correctly, the tone is right, but you can’t get the excitement, enthusiasm, or emotions right? So what do you do to get it? Here’s a little tip for you: It’s time to get physical! Move your body as you speak!

You know when you scream you hit harder? It works both ways to your voice too! When you move your body, your voice follows it more naturally. For example, watch this video of Hugh Jackman recording a VO for the climax scene in the movie, Logan. He moves his arms as if he’s running to match the breathing, and he clenched his fist when he screams. Well, you can see the result in the movie and it is perfect! So next time you’re in the booth and you can’t get a line right, don’t get embarrassed and just go all out!

A Keyboard For Typing and For Melodies

Can you imagine composing a letter, notes, poems or an entire podcast script with a keypad that also sings to you? Wait no more, that’s what Typatone does! It’s an audio-visual instrument created by Lullatone and jonobr1 in 2015, and while it’s been a while, it doesn’t get old. You can compose, change the tempo, the type of instruments, or key to your melodies and share them to your loved ones. But if you’re like us, we save a copy via QuickTime and have your writing sing to you 😜

Eavesdrop on Conversations That You’re Invited To

The feeling of being a fly on the wall but not being too creepy about it? Well that's the idea behind Clubhouse, an audio chat social media app. It lets you eavesdrop on conversations that you’re actually invited to.

Majority of social media is led by photos and videos such as YouTube and Instagram but with Clubhouse, this might change things up and even transform how podcasting is usually conversational to be forced to innovate more!

The Sound Answer for Podcasting

From all the audio recorders we’ve used, from the Zoom H1, H4, H6 and P4. We definitely enjoyed how hard and reliable the H6 has been but our new favorite is the recently released Podtrak P4! It’s cheaper, smaller, lighter than the H6 while having 4 different tracks! Most importantly for us is the extra gain of +70db for our beloved Shure SM7B mics. The P4 is just a bit more expensive than the H4 but absolutely worth it for any podcaster.
